Oggi è il turno della mini-guida su come installare VMware Server sul vostro pinguino preferito.....per poter finalmente rendere Windows schiavo della nostra Ubuntu(sia Dapper che Edgy)...
VMware è un ottimo software per la virtualizzazione dei sistemi operativi, e la VMware inc. ci viene incontro offrendoci liberamente la versione server, utile sia in locale(il vostro pc) che per usare un altro pc come server appunto e di accedere alle VM installate su questo.
L'installazione non è difficile ma non necessari alcuni cambiamenti, ed in ogni caso al termine dell'intallazione è necessario avere un codice di 20 cifre che verrà fornito gratuitamente previa registrazione al sito ufficiale....
Il download del pacchetto è disponibile sul sito ufficiale....
dopo aver cliccato su "download now" e letto e accettato la licenza, cercate il pacchetto da compilare per linux in formato tar.gz, di circa 100MB, e scaricatelo sul vostro PC....
Estraetelo subito con
Entrate nella cartella appena creata
Scaricate il pacchetto
per nn avere problemi in seguito......
.....e con privilegi di root fate partire l'installazione
A questo punto inizierà una serie di domande alle quali dovrete rispondere, dando spesso la risposta predefinita, ma nn sempre....
Vi allego in seguito tutto il log, e nel caso di risposta diversa è scritta accanto a quella predefinita.....
